About Me

Being a child carer, you always need to have some tricks up your sleeve to cheer children up. Mine is origami. Isn't that magical, turning a paper into whatever you want? Children are usually amused by magic

No matter where I go, I always bring some paper with me because if there’s nothing else to kill boredom, paper can be put into some good use. For example, during a long journey home on the bus, children can get bored easily and start misbehaving, getting upset or making noise. I often take out a sheet of paper and ask what they would want me to make from it. It is surprising how patient they are waiting and watching me manipulate the paper. Finally their patience is rewarded, a jumpy frog is ready and there are smiles on their faces.

I used to work in a nursery where origami was a hit during free play time. Everyone wanted an airplane,a boat, a hat, or a fan from me.

Now, I am a freelance babysitter and I visit different homes everyday. Children can be very uncomfortable with a stranger. How to build a positive relationship with them instantly? My solution to this is origami. To a little girl, a pretty butterfly or a lovely flower would always be her favourite. To a little boy, an airplane or a dinosaur can let you join his world immediately.

One day, my hobby turned out to be an art. Not only children love my origami, but also their parents. A mum asked me if I could make her some butterflies to put on her wall. My pleasure!! I made her 40 butterflies and she treasured each of them, framed them as four pictures.

Paper is magical and unlimited... I hope you will like my works as much as I like making them for you.

I would love to hear your thoughts, comments, questions and requests- come and design your own origami art! Custom-made.
